︎ A magical idea referred to as “manifestation” only exists in the perception of an observer. You may be wondering what the author means by “perception of the observer”. That is, the quantum neurological and biochemical phenomenon. There’s a place in your mind that believes dreams can come true. In other words, your imagination. No one else besides the observer is aware of a particular activation of a single desire. Thoughts become things, don’t they? Each thought has potential to become a material object, right? It would be helpful to have a very clear picture of what you desire. Before you recognize the lyric, “I am the vine, you are the branches”, keep in mind that this is a metaphor. “I Am” refers to the name of God. According to the book of Exodus, Elohim (God) first revealed the name “I Am” to Moses. What then, or whom is “Elohim”? This is a plural word. You imagine or perceive the observer to be separate from you. For your desire to manifest from outside of yourself.

Nostalgia meets modern anxiety. Written in isolation during the summer of 2020, when the pandemic hit, The Love Cascade is thematically apocalyptic. Isolation makes romance absurd. Isolation which celebrates escape from potential rejection by unrealistic expectations. Romance alone being incapable of fulfilling the contract under these conditions. Particularly, the idiosyncratic nature of emotions. The artist is just too complicated. Appropriation of DVD menus and VHS tape decay are disconnecting both the signifier and the signified from their purported referents in the phenomenal world. Vacuum cleaners transmute into synth solos. Juggling balls hold space for saxophone solos. All metaphors are obligations to skip over logic.
