The Fenn Den

Self-actualization is to achieve your full potential. That’s what The Fenn Den podcast is about. At the outset, the goal for Sean Allen Fenn was to “win your heart and change your mind”. How? By expressing a unique perspective on entrepreneurship, mindset, and art.
Since 2017, when the first edition started, interviews included authors and entrepreneurs. Digital Audio Enrichment 2.0 contained experimental musings on the esoteric.
The Fenn Den VOL. III launched in July 2021. It’s a departure from the previous 2018 content. VOL. III features actors, artists, and musicians.

Episode 4: Sean Allen Fenn, How to Make Your Dreams Real

Interview with Sean Allen Fenn about how he made his Surplus album. The pandemic of 2020 jolted everything to a halt. Living in New York City wasn’t fun anymore. In 2021, he wrote 100 songs. Tapping in to his subconscious, the songs came out of his dreams. It turns out that being a good story teller is not his strength. Songs don’t always demand a narrative. They can be abstract and random. They state no facts. They don’t need to be solid like a brick. There are no wrong notes.

Episode 3: Amy Matthews, Founder of Amy Matthews Skincare

Problem skin makes the pressure more intense when you’re auditioning for Broadway shows. Any actor would agree that the stress of the audition process is enough. It takes an entrepreneur to see that compounding stress as an invitation to solve a bigger problem. In so doing, Amy Matthews launched a 100% natural skincare company. Dissatisfied with “oil free” products and dermatologists who couldn’t affordably show results, she discovered the healing power of natural oils. Now that she created a winning product, how is she getting it out in a competitive skincare market?

Episode 2: Actor Grace Chim

Our biggest regrets are the chances we didn’t take. When her parents wanted her to work in banking and become a doctor, they had no expectations of Grace Chim moving to New York City to sing, dance, and act in movies. In this episode, Grace opens up about Indonesian folk stories, her upcoming role in a sci-fi movie Risen, and possibly appearing as a warrior princess in a Marvel movie (although the NDA prevents confirmation of this news). We also discuss sword fighting, dangerous kangaroos, and emotional doctors. My only regret is not asking her to bark like a chihuahua.

Episode 1: Actor Laval Alsbrooks Jr.

Have you ever wondered where you fit in the grand scheme of things? For actor Laval Alsbrooks Jr., that question hit him like a ton of bricks when he was about to turn 30 years old and worked at a bank. In this first episode of The Fen Den Podcast VOL. III, we explore the point at which an actor no longer claims to be aspiring, but affirms his role (no pun intended). Instead of tying what he does for a job to his identity, Laval lets his love of story telling and his faith in God do the heavy lifting. This episode is for anyone who doesn’t want to regret not taking a chance on doing that “one thing” they really want to do.
